Windows 7 software support & compatibility - Monday, January 18, 2010

Have you been wondering if your current Jayhawk software will work with the new Windows 7 operating system?  Well, we currently only support our newer software versions (JUBS S4, JUS, and JCS) running on Windows 7 32-bit.  We have ran into many issues with hardware devices/drivers with the 64-bit version (printers, meter reading devices, bar code scanners, etc.).  We believe our software will work okay with it, but it may take additional support time to get it installed and working (not covered by a support agreement) and other devices may or may not work with it (depends on the vendor's support of it and/or may require updated drivers/software).

If you want to check what your Windows 7 computer has, you can find out by clicking the "Start" menu button, then right-click on "Computer" and then choose "Properties" from the menu.  The top section only shows the Windows Edition (Home, Professional, etc.).  The 32- or 64-bit will display in the section labeled "System" under the item "System type:" and it should say "32-bit Operating System." (As you'll see, this is also where you can see the processor and memory in your computer.)
